English YPQI Cohort announced and now recruiting cohorts in Wales and Scotland
2019-02-08
We are thrilled to announce the fourteen youth organisations taking part in the first English cohort to pilot the Social and Emotional Learning Programme Quality Assessment, part of the Youth Programme Quality Intervention developed in the US by the Weikart Center. This is the first wave in a three year pilot project funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
The sample was chosen to offer diversity based on a range of criteria including organisational size, region, nature of the workforce, type of provision and needs of the young people involved in provision, in order to maximise learning. The cohort has attended their first training delivered by the Weikart Center in January, and we have also trained the first cohort of external peer assessors. You can see the full list of organisations in the English cohort here.
Throughout February 2019, we are recruiting 6-9 youth organisations in both Scotland and Wales, who will gain support in implementing the intervention and be involved in adapting the YPQI to the UK context. You can find more information on our website or if you would like to discuss this further or are interested in being a pilot organisation, please get in touch with Sydney Church, Research and Learning Officer.
