Launching the Enterprise Development Programme

We are excited to be working on the pilot of the Enterprise Development Programme led by Access - The Foundation for Social Investment. The two programmes being piloted are Enterprise Grants and Enterprise Learning. Initially we are developing this programme in sub-sectors and have chosen to focus on homelessness and youth services. We believe that these sectors have significant untapped potential for enterprise development and therefore a latent requirement for social investment. We will use the learnings from the pilot programmes focused on these sectors to support other sectors and places to encourage enterprise development.

A coalition of partners have come together to deliver the pilot programmes Enterprise Grants and Enterprise Learning. Homeless Link, UK Youth and The Centre for Youth Impact are key sector bodies supporting the programmes.  Social Investment Business are delivering Enterprise Grants and The School for Social Entrepreneurs are delivering Enterprise Learning.

About the Enterprise Development Programme
The Enterprise Development Programme is a five year, £40m programme funded by Access. The programme will provide a broad range of support for charities and social enterprises in England, helping them make a transition to new enterprise models, or grow existing ones. There will be a particular focus on the enterprise models which are best enabled by access to finance, and on enabling organisations to utilise the tool of social investment as part of that transition. Enterprise Grants will include:

• Feasibility Grants of £5-10k for organisations wanting to development an enterprise proposition in its earliest stage
• Development Grants of around £50k for organisations developing scaling up an enterprise proposition
