Delivering, Measuring and Observing Socio-emotional Skill Development Practice
Overview
This course is grounded in our Quality Practice Tool and is designed to introduce you to socio- emotional skills (SES), and the practices that support its development with young people. The day is split into three modules, and you can take part in one or more of the modules. The first module identifies the four areas of high-quality socio-emotional skill development practice with a range of 20 indicators. The second module introduces the Quality Practice Tool and how to use it to measure SES practice, and the third module focuses on how to observe colleague’s practices.
Outcomes
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Identify and apply components of high-quality socio-emotional skills practice;
- Understand the theory underpinning the four areas of socio-emotional skill development practice;
- Become familiar with the College's socio-emotional skill measures; and
- Be able to observe colleagues' practices and feedback to them effectively.
Qualification and Credit Framework Level
This course is at QCF Level 3.

This course will help you to evidence the following national occupational standards for youth work:

This course is not accredited.
Hours of learning
This course has three modules and six hours of guided learning.
Cost
The delivery of this course for individuals is funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, covering £250 per person.
